Alkaline Black Bean Burger

Ingredients: 

  • Onions, raw 1/2 medium (2-1/2" dia) 
  • Black Beans Cooked without salt 15 oz 
  • Organic Egg 1 large egg(s) 
  • Sprouted bread (Ezekiel 4:9) Sprouted Grain 1 1 slice 
  • Ground Oregano 1 tsp(s) 
  • Spices, basil, dried 1 tsp(s), leaves 
  • Garlic Powder 1/2 tsp(s) 
  • Cayenne Pepper 1/2 tsp(s) 
  • Olive Oil, extra virgin 1 1/2 tbsp(s) 
  • Sprouted whole wheat English Muffin 6 muffin 
  • Lettuce, green leaf, raw 6 leaf 
  • Red Tomatoes 12 slice, medium (1/4" thick) 
  • Red Onions 1/2 onion 

Instructions: 

Put sprouted bread in a coffee grinder or blender to make bread crumbs. Put beans in a large bowl and mash well with a fork. Add egg, yellow onion, bread crumbs, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, pepper and hot sauce. Mix well to combine then shape into 6 patties. 

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook patties, flipping once, until golden brown on both sides and cooked through, about 10 minutes total. Transfer to english muffins, top with green leaflettuce, tomatoes and red onions and serve. 

Tip: 

Vegetarians: Use egg substitute. Use gluten free bread if following a gluten free diet.
